WEBELOS

In conjunction with the introduction of Family Scouting for Cub Scouts (with separate Dens for Boys and Girls), new editions of the Cub Scout Handbooks were issued in September, 2018. The new editions also incorporated the advancement changes which were published on-line in November, 2016, then released in print form as an addendum to each Handbook.

In 2020, the Yo-Yo and Protect Yourself Rules preview adventures were introduced and the notes after requirement 5 were added, and in 2021 the Modular Design preview adventure was added..

In May, 2021, BSA announced that seven of the Webelos/Arrow of Light elective adventures will be retired on May 31, 2022.

  1. Be an active member of your Webelos den for three months.

  2. Complete each of the five required Adventures.

  3. In addition to the five required adventures listed above, complete at least one elective Adventure of your den's or family's choosing for a total of at least six adventures.
(See the list that follows the Arrow of Light requirements.)

  4. With your parent, guardian, or other caring adult complete the exercises in the pamphlet How to Protect Your Children From Child Abuse: A Parent's Guide.

  5. Earn the Cyber Chip award for your age. (The Cyber Chip requirement may be waived by your parent or guardian if you do not have access to the internet.)

Webelos Cub Scouts may also complete the Protect Yourself Rules, Yo-Yo, or Modular Design Preview Adventure for requirement 3.

The Cyber Chip requirement (5) may be replaced with earning the Protect Yourself Rules Adventure.

If Cub Scouts use the Protect Yourself Rules Adventure in place of the Cyber Chip requirement, the adventure can not be used as an elective for rank.
